Professor Plange-Rhule is the Rector of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and the President of the Ghana Kidney Association. He has extensive experience in research, particularly, among populations of African origin, in the fields of hypertension, and cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Plange-Rhule is the Principal Investigator of the Ghana study and the Rector of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and the President of the Ghana Kidney Association. He also serves as the contact PI for the GRIT coordinating center. He has extensive experience in research, particularly, among populations of African origin, in the fields of hypertension, and cardiovascular disease.

He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Department of Renal Medicine and Transplantation, St George’s, University of London. He was a Deputy Director of the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research (KCCR) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana and a Past President of the Ghana Medical Association. He is the current President of the Ghana Kidney Association.

Professor Plange-Rhule has extensive experience in research, particularly, among populations of African origin, in the fields of hypertension, cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular disease epidemiology. He has engaged in several internationally funded research projects and has published extensively in these areas. He has also contributed chapters to two books.
