Dr. Kamano is a practicing physician, lecturer and researcher in Moi University school of medicine. She is also a Co-PI on the STRENGTHS Kenya study
Dr. Kamano is a practicing physician, lecturer, and researcher at Moi University school of medicine. She was the first the program-lead for the AMPATH Chronic disease management program till 2017 December and is very passionate about increasing access to quality NCDcare for all. She has been the Co-PI for three NIH funded cluster randomized trials on reduction of CVD outcomes in patients with hypertension and /or diabetes.
She is also the Principal investigator for a World Bank- funded national NCD pilot project aimed at testing an integrated care model for four chronic diseases at the primary care level in western Kenya. She is involved in shaping the Kenyan National health strategies and policies related to NCD especially in areas touching on CVD, diabetes, and use of the primary care platform in addressing NCDs
She is the PI for a World Bank-funded national pilot NCD implementation project and for a GACD funded CVD risk reduction cluster randomized trial. She has a certificate in clinical and implementation research and completed a fellowship in behavioral randomized clinical trials..
