Dr. Butler is the data analyst for the GRIT consortium he is also an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Population Health at the New York University School of Medicine. Working in the field of behavioral health. He received his doctorate in clinical psychology from St. John’s University and has examined psychosocial correlates of cardiovascular health among African Americans at the NYU Center for Healthful Behavior Change for the past four years.
Dr. Butler’s work focuses on determining psychosocial predictors of hypertension and cardiovascular disease, examining lifestyle interventions for reducing blood pressure, measuring treatment adherence, and examining psychosocial predictors of disturbed sleep. He is a member of the Hypertension Working Group of the Jackson Heart Study and a member of the American Heart Association.
